The priest and the woman in charge do their own thing. It feels very much like a protestantized church disobedient to Rome. They often leave out the Gloria. I've never heard them recite the Creed. The woman delivers the homily after the priest says a few short words. I don't think he believes in hell. It is a very touchy feely service, or as they would call it "warm and welcoming", complete with hand holding during the Our Father, and the Lutheran ending where they all raise their joined hands. They ignore the GIRM directives of 2003, General Instructions for the Roman Mass. The poor parishoners blindly embrace the abuses introduced by the priest and the woman. You will receive looks of disappointment, disapproval, and confusion if you quietly decide not to join in on the misplaced love fest. It seems as though they are worshipping themselves and how righteous they think they are. They also worship and celebrate each other. Worship of God seems to come third. They certainly are not obedient to the Holy See in Rome. The priest seems apathetic and the woman appears to be full of hubris. She seems to like the power and control she has been given. Don't expect to feel welcomed unless you show acceptance and approval of their creation. They do not tolerate outsiders who's beliefs are more in line with Rome. Disobedience. Hubris. Worship of self and community. Hipocracy. Touchy feely. Ugly musical choices. Tired hymns. Hitler-esce leadership. If this is what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. I guess they don't think that the mass stands on its own, and do not recognize the dignity inherent to it, so they have taken it upon themselves to throw out what they do not like and to introduce their own overly sentimental "warm" and politically correct things. All are welcome... Unless you're more conservative or traditional than they like!
